The commentary provided is really a mish-mash of many sources, including homilies, books on specific topics, and dedicated bible studies from other times in my life. However, the following three resources comprise the vast majority of the material presented:
The concept of intercalating bible verses with commentary comes from the liturgical Bible study at St. Charles Borromeo in Picayune, Mississippi. It is also the source of the quotes from the Early Church Fathers.
Many of the ideas in the commentary itself comes from Dianne Bergant‘s excellent Preaching the New Lectionary book series. In many cases, I have copied her insights verbatim. Collegeville: The Liturgical Press, 1999/2000/2001.
Finally, my trusty copy of The Catholic Study Bible: New American Bible, edited by Rev. Donald Senior. Oxford University Press, USA; College edition (April 5, 1990).
