Psalm 119:57, 72, 76-77, 127-130

Our responsorial psalm for this week comes from Psalm 119, a psalm that stands as the longest single chapter in Scripture and a sustained meditation on the beauty, power, and life-giving guidance of God’s word.

Structured as an acrostic poem and filled with repeated expressions of love for God’s law, it reflects a heart that treasures divine instruction above all things and continually seeks understanding, direction, and wisdom from it.

It is a fitting responsorial for this week’s celebration because it gives voice to the same desire as King Solomon in the first reading, affirming that true wisdom comes from God’s word and valuing it “more precious than gold and silver.”
