Psalm 95: 1-2, 6-9

Our responsorial psalm for this week comes from Psalm 95, a summons to worship God and listen obediently to his voice.

This psalm holds a special place in the Church’s prayer as the traditional Invitatory Psalm of the Liturgy of the Hours, calling the faithful at the beginning of each day to hear God’s voice without hardening their hearts.

It is an especially fitting response to Ezekiel’s commission as a watchman in our first reading: the prophet has a responsibility to speak God’s warning, but God’s people have a corresponding responsibility to hear it.
