Psalm 23:1-6

Our responsorial psalm for this celebration comes from Psalm 23, one of the most widely recognized and beloved psalms.

On All Souls’ Day, the imagery of the Lord as a faithful shepherd guiding his flock through green pastures and dark valleys echoes the assurance of our first reading that “the souls of the just are in the hand of God.” Both passages express confidence that even death cannot place the faithful beyond God’s care.
