Introduction
Throughout the season of Advent, the Church has prepared us for Christmas by immersing us in the broader context of salvation history, providing us the proper foundation from which to best celebrate the arrival of the Messiah. As we remember Christ’s first coming, our minds and hearts are directed to await his Second Coming at the end of time.
Advent paradoxically exhorts us to patience and sobriety while kindling a fervent desire for the glorious consummation of all things.
